last week is a good week for me. manage to get the highest point among the teams for that week. i'd climbed from number 6 to number 4 this week.. great !!

this week will be another challenge for all the teams to get points.. competition starts to get hotter.. team managers start to talk cock.. include me.. haha...

this week i recommend totenham's players.. i think it is the downfall of portsmouth.. so, it's about time to pick teams playing againts them especially playing at home to portsmouth..

My DaiLy RoUtiNE

currently i'm working as an engineer in XFAB Sarawak (formerly known as 1st Silicon). i'm in the Facility department under MEI group. i'm taking care of MEI Operation. i have 16 technicians under me which work in shifts of 4. shift A,B,C and D.

everyday i need to come to office quite early as i need to conduct the morning meeting with my technicians. during the meeting, problems will be highlighted and discussed between me and my guys.

FMCS is our control room. what we do ?? actually we are the facility complaint centre. all problems regarding facilities will come to us first. even small things like door stuck, aircond not cold, toilet block, lighting blown, water line leak, etc.. we need to look into.. sometimes people say, we are general worker.. anything also we do.. "macam-macam ada..."

so, basically for our section, we always do fire-fighting activities. people complaint, we troubleshoot, do containment, and temporary fix.. and we are also the one that always got complaint as our customer (anyone that call us, is our customer) will only interface with us. our response is very very important to them.

MEI (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation) operation mainly deals with 3 of those field. we do controls of the facility systems, operation of the systems, monitoring of the systems.. etc.

it can be sometimes easy and most of the time hard.. we are always under pressure to get our job done. pressure from production, from customer, from bosses.. etc.. we are in a pressure cooker.. !! hahaa......

everyday, i need to also sign-off all the gds (gas detection system) disable form from the production people to request for the gds disable for their PM activities. even weekends i need to entertain all these calls.. what to do.. it's my responsibility.

talking about gds, actually i started my responsibility in this section with gds. i was the overall man-in-charge for the gds system. i handled quite a few big projects on the gds system. so, mostly now although my responsibility changes, people still come to me regarding gds system.. this is good.. but if things happened, they also look for me.. arrghh... why always me.. haha.. it all comes to how committed and responsible am i.. the truth is, i'm quite committed and responsible though.. haha.. "masuk bakul, angkat sendiri.." haha....

basically that's my responsibilities in MEI operation. very challenging and a lot of patience required for this job. most importantly, i need to enjoy this work life to relief the stress of my work...

FMCS NeTwORk DiSasTER

on Monday morning, our FMCS control room having some problem with its network for the SCADA PCs. almost all the PC cannot connect to the server. so, my guys having some problem to monitor.

our gds client pc also down. so, many complaints from the production people as they cannot request for gds disable and cannot proceed their maintenance activities. i was so pressure to up the pc asap. phui did help me to troubleshoot and we manage to get the network up after a while.

nothing can be found that caused the problem. what we did is unplug and plug back the connections, and everything back to normal. hmm... very weird !! i never encounter this before. well, this serve as an experience for future similar problem.

the problem didnt end just like that.. one of the pc keep having network problem after that.. this morning i try to troubleshoot further but unluckily caused the overall network to be downed. but i manage to recover back within half an hour !!

now the network still under monitoring.. really cannot find any problem / fault with it.. must be ghosts.. !!! wwuuuuuhhh...... !! :)

DoTA

last Saturday we had a few games of dota at m3. we manage to win 2 out of 3 games played. i killed quite a lot but also got killed quite a few times.. haha..

i was not playing the game for quite sometime already.. no practice ma.. i thought i'll be the target for opponent to kill.. but i did quite ok that day.. yesss.... no more noob.. !! haha...

my partner, Alan a.k.a. 4K was also in form.. as for Alvin (alabin) and Alex (123), they should had won the last game though.. but we manage to build up 'teng' 'teng'.. so, we beat them in the end..

current standing up to last week's game, MEI 13 pts and UHP 10 pts. we are leading again... yahooo.... !!

100 PLuS !!

last week i bet 1 can of 100plus with one of my colleague, Francis Kujat for the yahoo fantasy weekly score. we bet who will get the highest point among us two. i won.. but sudah almost to the weekend already he still not pay me my 100plus..

macam-macam alasan.. lupa la, later la.. maikuliu... 1 can pun susah mau bayar.. haha..

YaHoo FaNTaSY Week 6

for week 5, i manage to get only 83pts. however, i did crawl up one more spot to number 6th now. the surprise of the week is manchester united (name of the team in the x-fan6 league). he manage to shoot up from 12th to 4th.. walaueh.. !! with the week total of 162pts..

no problem. i'm very confident with my team this week. juz check it out below.. slow and steady i'll soon competing among the top 3.. hehe..

TRAniNG TomOrroW

tomoro i'll be attending an in-house training titled "Behavioral Interviewing skills". sounds interesting.. hope it is though.. but i doubt it. it will be another boring type of course that usually half of the training period is sleeping time.. hehe..

conducted by our training manager, Suresh Kumar and location is at our training developement center, Rentap (our site office). i'll be going there together with Alex. what we are waiting for is just the tea-breaks and lunch.. haha...

so, tomoro i'll not be in office. good !! no need to see the pile of checklist on my table and face this slow pc... hoorraayy.... !!

PoS LaJu

i cant remember when is the last time i use poslaju to send things liaw.. but today i sent one. send the medical check report for my insurance purchase from AIA (thru Alvin's sister). to my surprise, it's damn expensive.

i thought it will not cost more than rm5 but it actually cost me rm6.83.. for 10g of letter.. soo expensive.. suck blood.. i hope the letter will reach it destination by tomorrow as per promised by the officer there (nice guy though). if not, i complaint loh... so expensive yet not reach destination as promised !!

haha.. what is all the complaint here.. hehe.. i can still claim back from Alvin's sister when she came back mah.. haha..

WeeKeND

what did i do last weekend?? answer is totally nothing !! i just rest (sleep) at home. it had been quite a long time i didnt sleep like this.. so very very 'song'...

wake up so very late already.. then watch tv, after that eat, then sleep some more... wah... very nice.. haha... you know what, i think doing nothing like this also very tiring.. today i feel so tired although had a very very good rest last weekend. this show that the study is very true, sleeping will cause our body to burn more calories.. a good way to slim down.. dont belief me, try it out !! haha...

today back to work.. engine not start yet.. so not in the mood to work yet.. monday blues.. haha..

PC DiSaSteR

yesterday i had a pc disaster at office. initially the computer was already quite ill because of all the junk i fed to it.. hehe.. so, i tried to make it better by cleaning up all the junks. in the process of cleaning the junks, i accidentally deleted some important files needed by the windows.

guess what happened?? my pc is in comma !! it still can go in to the windows but cannot logon to the company network !! i tried so many ways to recover it but to no success. yesterday from noon time until 10pm i was trying to do that. imagine the energy i put into this.. but still failed.. sooo disapointed !! although i can easily get our IT people to look into it, but i refuse to do so as i felt i can do it !!.. but almost give-up..

today morning came to work on it again. this time, a bit more clever.. search thru internet for solution.. so luckily that i found a solution. i tried it and it works !! just that i still need a little help from our IT personnel to add my pc back to the network (i'm only normal user.. not network admin rights.. wtf..)

now i'm using back my pc to write this blog.. haha.. so happy that i dont need to re-format my pc.. it could have been so much more headache for me because of the data that i need to backup and time wasted on this...

so cheerful today.. hooraayyy.. !!!

X-FAb SaRAwAk

what so interesting about that title, you might ask?? well, that's my new company name. changed from 1st Silicon(M) Sdn.Bhd. to X-FAB Sarawak. i've been here for just a little over 5 years and i'd seen quite a lot of changes since then.

first, the change of CEO from Claudio Loddo to John Nelson. then change of company logo. followed by now the change of company name, logo (Again), etc.. due to the new merger with X-FAB from Germany.

nice logo? we are now x-men !!

not very sure whether this merger will benefit us the employees or not. but i hope for the best and there are positive signs that we are moving at a right directions.. we have a nickname now, x-men !! hahaha.....

who can predict future?? pls tell me x-fab sarawak's future !! hahaha... not much can be said except move in line with the company's objectives and strive for the best in all aspects of works. Quality is x-fab's focus as it will determine customers' satisfactory and their reliability on our products.

VcDs

last Saturday i went to Kenyalang Park and bought some VCDs. coincidently there is a offer sale of RM10 for 4 vcds. thinking of watching some movie later of the day, so i grab 4 pieces loh.. something happen prior to that.. a gal was standing just next to me. she is shorter than me and wearing a bare shoulder blouse. she was also searching for vcd to buy. to my pleasure, from the position i'm standing and the angle of she bending forward, i have a nice view of her curves.. i think she noticed me looking at her but she was not shy to let me see though.. i think she's chinese.

well nothing happen though.. haha.. ok.. back to the vcd i bought. one of it titled 'Sky High'.. a superhero movie. quite nice.. worth the rm2.50 i paid for.. hehehe.. recommended to watch this movie. quite entertaining. light story plot. not so complicated. maybe a little bit too childish.. well what you expect, it's a Disney movie.. and i'm an over-grown kid.. haha.. 3 out of 5 stars..

others i havent watch but had browse thru.. all quite good. so, really worth the buy.

BLAcK ThuRsDAy !!

yesterday 7-Sep was a very unlucky day for us. we have a major power interruption and caused a lot of our systems down. our plant UPS having some problem.. auto-isolated one-by-one and left 2 units before it finally goes overload due to the high loading connected.

what a terrible situation that we face and required to recover. each and every engineers run up and down, left and right to check and manually start all the system that were down.

for myself, i start off to make sure the controls in the FMCS is back and the major systems are up before i proceed to run to the gas control room to check for the GDS PLC and then run into the subfab.. after resetting back one of the I/O panel that tripped, then i ran back to FMCS and proceed to run to the cold room chiller to reset back the chiller.

finally after most of the system are stabilized, i went up to 3rd floor to help on the exhausts changeovers and startups.

the event started at around 2:20pm and ended at around 9pm as this is the time we announce back to production of the full recovery.

after the 'war'.. we proceed to Pending Seefood (as usual whenever there is an emergency). and as usual also, Kok belaja... wah nice foods... especially the 'drunken prawns'... the soup is so 'kaw-kaw'...yummmyy....

after dinner was almost 11pm.. reach home terus tidur.. headache liaw.. haha..

what a day... !!

YaHoo FaNTaSY week 4

after resting for the last week, this weekend will have the epl games. as for the Yahoo Fantasy, i'm currently in the 8th spot. after the first week, i was at the 13th spot.. such a disgrace... this is my worst start to the season in this league.. haha..

this week my aim is to get to top 5. wish me luck

i havent really talked about my new bought camera. it is a kodak camera. Kodak Easyshare C643. cost RM899. free 512MB SD and also a tripod.

after using it for about 2 weeks, i feel regretted to have bought it... taking photos under sufficient light is very nice.. but at night time, especially outdoor, i cant even see what am i focusing at. the LCD just show black screen... arrggghhhh.... disappointed.

it is a very user friendly type of camera.. but it functions, especially the display, really sucks!!!

recommendation to buy Koday Easyshare C643, 5 out of 10 (10 for very very good and recommended)

NaTiOnAL DaY!!

"tanggal 31, bulan 8, 57.. merdeka!! merdeka!!...." that's the song that keep been playing in the radio and also the TV. it's 31-Aug, Malaysia's National Day!!

it has been 49 years of independence and we are still in harmony living together in this multi-racial society. the national day celebration this year is at here in Kuching.

there are so many people in the city area and a lot of roads were blocked as there will be a lot of activities during the celebration. on the eve of the merdeka, i went out to the city to see what is happening there.. guess what.. i see nothing.. sooo jamm.... what i saw was cars, motorbikes and people walking.. some ahmoi too... haha..

so, after 1.5 hours trapped in the traffic, i decided to go back home and sleep.. :(

next day, the merdaka day, i watched the parade from the TV.. dont dare to go out to the city again.. haha..

whole day rest at home. watch tv and play DOTA only.. so, that's how i celebrated the national day this year.. boringgg.....!! :)
